The problem

An expensive tool you might use twice a month

There are two ways to get a 130 kg Powerwall onto a wall: buy the dolly outright for £2,500–£2,833, or make do with generic lifting gear rated for the weight. Hiring is the option in between — the right tool, only on the days you need it.

01 / CAPITAL

No £2,500 outlay

Pay for the dolly on the jobs that need it instead of tying up capital in a tool that sits idle most weeks.

02 / TIME

Faster, safer lifts

The purpose-built dolly is quicker and lower-risk than improvising with generic gear. Less time on site, less strain on your back.

03 / RISK

Protects the asset

You are handling an £8,000+ unit. A controlled lead-screw lift beats straps and brute force when something slips.

On site

Stairs and rough ground, without the second pair of hands

Pneumatic tyres and hydraulic disc brakes handle the approach. A drill-driven lead screw does the lift, using the 18–20V drill already in your van — no impact driver, no improvising with straps.

Common questions

Before you get in touch

What is a Tesla Powerwall dolly?

A purpose-built lifting trolley for moving and positioning a Powerwall, which weighs around 130 kg. Pneumatic tyres, hydraulic disc brakes and a drill-driven lead-screw lift raise and lower the unit precisely, including on stairs and rough ground — the two hardest parts of a real install.

Can I hire a Powerwall dolly in the UK?

Yes. We hire the dolly by the day or the week, delivered anywhere in the UK from our Manchester base, as an alternative to buying one outright for £2,500–£2,833.

Is the dolly compatible with Powerwall 2 and Powerwall 3?

Yes. Slide rails and a locking plate for Powerwall 3, adjustable straps for Powerwall 2 and Powerwall+, rated to the full 130 kg unit weight either way.

Is the dolly required, or can I use other lifting equipment?

It is optional. Tesla's installation manuals list the dolly as the preferred method but explicitly allow any lift equipment rated to carry 130 kg. Treat it as a speed and safety upgrade over generic gear, not a compliance requirement.
